It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fred John Schabowski on January 21st 2025 in Menifee California at the age of 81 Fred is survived by his wife Charlene Schabowski his daughters Cheryl Millis and Jennifer Shindle his grandchildren Jamie Millis Joseph Millis Lauren Shindle Chloe Shindle and Ally Shindle his great-grandchildren Dominic Millis and Ryker Millis his son-in-law’s John Shindle Hans Lowe and Gerald Millis his sister Joan Casino his nephews and niece Mike Haller Cheryl Gatti and Doug Haller along with other close family members and friends that loved Fred dearly.

Fred was born on December 28th 1943 in Chicago Illinois to John and Marie Schabowski. He met the love of his life Charlene in 1963 and they married March 6th 1965 they went on to have two girls Cheryl and Jennifer and in 1978 Fred moved his family to California he worked as an auto-glazer for about 2 years then in 1980 he went to work for the Los Angeles times in Orange county. He retired after 28 years and moved to Sun City CA. Fred’s life was filled with loving his family and friends he enjoyed yearly trips fishing celebrating the Oktoberfest camping and most of all taking his family on long road trips visiting family and friends and allowing his family to see the wonders of the world he loves spending time with his wife taking cruises and bowling and having card games with friends in their early years they even belong to a van club. March 6th would have been their 60th wedding anniversary Fred also loved working on cars his favorite was a 1956 Chevy he loved remodeling and working on his home Fred loved life love to make people laugh he loved to have a good time Fred was also a good friend to lend a hand or come to for help Fred was a genuine Mr fix-it all just ask anyone who knew him especially his daughters there are no words to measure our loss he will be missed deeply.

A celebration of life for Fred will be held at a future date and time allowing those who loved him to gather and honor his memory.
