Henry X Hansen

Hank was born in North Dakota. He lived in a small farming community for his first 12 years. Then in 1945, he and his sister, and parents, Henry, Sr. and Claudine Hansen moved to California. Hank attended schools and graduated from Compton High School. He attended trade school for 2 years and worked in the electrical industry for some 48 years. Hank also served his Country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve for 6 years.
In 1956, Hank met Ruth Hayes and in 1957, they were married. They had four children, three boys and one daughter. Their Daughter and one son preceded him in death.
Hank was very active in church. He attended church most Sundays, attended Bible study, and other church related activities. Many of you probably remember seeing Hank out directing traffic between Services on Sunday mornings.
In 2002, Hank started volunteering with Riverside County Sheriffs’/Temecula Police Department. He received several awards and citations from Riverside County and City of Temecula for his volunteering.
Hank loved his five granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, and great-grandson. Whenever he and Ruth could, they would get together so they could hear what was going on with them.
Hank really did enjoy his retirement. He would say, I’m now able to do those things for others that I never took the time to do while I was working. Hank loved to travel. He and Ruth were able to see much of the country and the world. He also enjoyed working in the yard, and backyard bar-b-ques would happen all year long. Hank always said, I am on this journey in my walk with the Lord. He said, it’s a a very good thing that the Lord accepted me as the sinner that I was and by His grace I am saved and know that when I leave this life, I will be with Jesus Christ in Heaven.
Hank was not real comfortable with public speaking, however when it was one on one, he loved to talk and listen to what someone else had to say. Some have said, he was a man of few words.
Hank loved his wife, Ruth, and his family. He felt so fortunate with what the Lord had given to him in trust during his time here on earth.
He found out early on, how great you feel when you do something for someone else rather than for yourself.
