March 24, 1916 ~ December 15, 2013
Herminia Ayroso Villaroman was born on March 24, 1916 in Gapan City, Philippines. She was well-known to many as 'Nanay Iniang' or 'Iniang'. She lived a long and blessed life until she became ill at the age of 97. She was married to the love of her life, Patricio Villaroman (Patring) until she lost him to a fatal cardiac arrest in 1978. Iniang was very independent, communicated well in English and Tagalog, walked everywhere, watched her daily shows- The Price Is Right and The Filipino Channel, and knew how to use public transportation to independently accomplish all her day to day activities and grocery shopping. Her hobbies were cooking, playing cards, walks, short car trips with family, and smoking her favorite long thin black cigarettes. Iniang and Patring had 7 sons and 2 daughters. She was preceded by her daughter, Corazon; her two sons, Jose Sr. and Cesar; her daughter-in-laws, Ligaya and Evelyn; and grandson, Reynaldo Jr. (Jun). She is survived by her sons: Reynaldo, Patzoilo, Eduardo, Ponciano, and Gil as well as her daughter, Ester. She is survived by her daughter-in-laws: Rosario, Anita, and Blessie, and her son-in-law, Marcelino.
