Jeannette Berger

jeannette berger

Jeannette Berger passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 26, 1947, in the Philippines to Lewis & Bebiana Anderson and was also lovingly raised by her stepmother, Aurora Anderson.

Jeannette was a devoted wife, mother, mawmaw, and friend, known most for her generous spirit and kind heart. She dedicated her life to her family and caring for others. She was happiest when she was spending time with loved ones, playing computer games, watching mukbang videos on her phone, or watching reality television shows and Fox News. She believed in giving without hesitation, not because she questioned whether someone deserved it, but simply because they were in need. Her kindness knew no conditions, and her generosity came from a place of pure compassion and love. Everyone that met Jeanette became her lifelong friend.

She is survived by her spouse, Eric, her children, Jennifer, Christopher, and Stephanie; and their spouses, Ezra, Garry, and Lauren, whom she embraced as her own. She was a proud and devoted mawmaw to her grandchildren, Lorelai, Lucas, Benjamin, Eric, Emma, Kainoakupuna, Oliver, CJ, Charlie, Whitley, and her great granddaughter, Rose, who will all continue to honor her legacy by living through her example. She also shared a deep and unbreakable bond with her siblings. She is survived by siblings Zenaida, Walter, Nimrod, and Grace, and now lovingly reunites with Linda and Edward, who always remained close in her heart.

Jeannette’s warmth and love touched so many, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Guestbook

  1. One of the sweetest ladies inside and out!! sending prayers 🙏 to the family for inner peace… GOD BLESS !!

  2. My maw maw. The sweetest, most giving and loving soul I have ever met. I am so thankful to have been with her in her final months, and to know that she knows I love her for all of time. I’m happy to know she has found peace, and she will forever live on as an inspiration and foundational person in my life. I love you for all time

  3. So saddened and heartbroken but grateful that I was able to share some time with her and to have some great conversations . Our family will be a little less without her . RIP Jeannette , till we meet again my friend .

  4. I remember the memories we had throughout our lives. Wonderful and blessed. It was when Aunty Jeannette invited me to stay with her and Uncle in Valley Springs. I had no place to go. I am thankful. And there is where I saw the TV show playing TBN and a minister mentioning Deuteronomy 8:18-19 and Malachi 3:10. Praise the Lord for Aunty Jeanette! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! Give the Tithes and Offerings! God has blessed!

  5. I love you Mawmaw. I’m sad I missed you by just a little. I had a lot to tell you, I’ve written it all down. Rest in peace.

  6. I never knew you personally. Yet, I grieve because someone I deeply care about has felt safe enough with me to let me know of your passing. Life, and death are strange things, both of them.
I truly, genuinely hope that you had a good life, and that if you believed in the afterlife you can watch over the ones you cared about from above. May you Rest In Peace.
    You’ll be remembered.
    – a stranger, whom you had an indirect impact on and wanted to leave a message

  11. When my brother Eric met and married Jeannette, he hit the jackpot, and so did all our family. They had just married in Calif. when my brother got the call that his father had died. Of course, he and Jeannette came to N.O. for the funeral. It was our family’s first time to meet her, under very awkward circumstances for her. She was a beautiful, shy, very soft spoken Filipino. We all felt so bad that she was meeting a house full of new family members under very sad circumstances that we all decided to take her out to look around the French Quarter, get some food, and just lighten the mood and get to know her. We immediately liked this sweet young woman and our affection for her has just grown and grown ever since. Jeannette has always been the sweetest, kindest, most welcoming, caring, and loving person I have ever known. In all these years, I have never heard her speak a negative or angry word to anyone. She has been like a sister to all of Eric’s family and a beloved aunt to all of our children. I am so proud and grateful of the marriage she and Eric built, and the amazing children and grandchildren that resulted from their strong and loving bond. Today’s funeral service was a testament to their love for Jeannette, as well as the love of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her deep affection for Our Lord, and the life she led emulating God’s love on a daily basis, earned her a place in heaven long ago, and I know she was greeted at heaven’s gates with the open and most loving arms of God to rest in His eternal peace. Jeanette, you are, and will always be, greatly loved and missed by all of us still here on Earth. ❤️🙏
