Born March 1, 1937 in Tampa Florida, one of 8 children, James John Reese Jr., Louise Reese, Venable, (General), Susie Reese Brinson, (Mr. Bonnie) Emma Reese Hunter, Parnetha Reese, Ernest Reese, (Norma Reese)Tarie Reese born to James John Reese Sr. and Tarrie Lee Reese. Joe attended Lawrence Dunbar Elementary School and George Washington Carver Junior High School. They were very active in Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and the community. The family participated in the outreach programm and were very well known and respected throughout the Tampa Bay area. Father Reese shined shoes in a local barbershop, Mother Reese owned a Daycare/Kindergarten and they raised all their children to serve God, got an education, pursue their dreams and work hard. Joe was the child most like his mother, gentle, caring and compassionate and loved being with family. Joe enlisted in the military, United States Navy, completed his education and received his diploma. While traveling the world many times, when stationed in Newport Rhode Island he met the love of his life Ruthie M. Robinson. He served in the Navy for 21 years proudly. He was a strong advocate for Veterans, worked at the United States Post Office as a supervisor for 20 years as well as a supervisor for Cheers Restaurant and Bar until moving to Temecula California. Joe and his wife Ruthie were married for 53 plus years and was very active in the community of Boston Massachusetts. Joe and Ruthie served as Chair persons of the Reese and Marsh Family Reunions annually for many years. He was passionate about the New England sport teams especially the Patriot’s - a diehard fan with an appetite for all their paraphernalia you could fine. Dad made sure all family member who loves his team has something to remind them of his love to his team. He loved music he had a collection of Jazz, Soul, Rhythm and Blues with Aretha Franklin and Miles Davis toping his list. A sharp dresser, who loved his grandchildren his gardening and his barbeque. He was a master chef along with his wife. He was a very well rounded person who was loved by all who knew him. Joe leaves behind one Brother, Ernest Reese (Norma), three children Wanda R. Perry-Josephs, (Garfield W. Josephs) Kevin L. Perry (Honora L. Perry) and Joe G. Reese II (Christina McCrory-Reese). Grand Children: Amanda H. Perry, Trisha A. Josephs, Kevin L. Perry II, Kimberly L. Perry, Garfield W. Josephs II (Will), Wanya Reese Ashanti De Costa, Malyk Reese and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
