Lark Thomas Worthey

lark worthey
Lark Thomas Worthey III, affectionately known as LT, was born on August 19, 1969, in Hollywood, CA. He was the youngest of three children, born to Loretta Ann and Lark Thomas Worthey II. Thomas accepted Christ at an early age under the guidance of his grandfather, Rev. Albert Wheat, at Bible Way Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA and later, he baptized him, at Rhinehart Acers Missionary Baptist Church, in Riverside, CA. As a little boy, LT was known to sit front and center in church with the deacons, receiving his Christian training. The family later relocated to Temecula, CA where he graduated from Lake Elsinore High School and attended Mt. San Jacinto College. LT was blessed with one son, Lark Thomas Worthey IV. His son was the joy of his life. It was important for LT to make sure his son was a part of the church community and value the Word of God. Like he and his grandfather, LT made sure that he and his son, Thomas IV sat front and center in the House of God. LT was self-employed. He was the owner of Details Unlimited, an auto detailing service, for several years. His job became his ministry where he would befriend people and tell them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his earlier years, he worked at Lucky's Store where he bagged groceries and invited customers to fellowship at his church. LT and his brother Greg established their work ethic and entrepreneur spirit as young boys when they worked with their grandfather, Rev. Wheat as his right-hand-men, at Wheat Janitorial Services. LT became a member of Imani Temple, COGIC and was later licensed as a minister under the leadership of Elder James Mason. LT loved singing and serving the Lord. For a while, he was a member or the Praise Team Choir, spreading the good news in song and making a joyful noise. Throughout his life he touched the lives of many people. He always responded to the needs of others and had a deep concern for the welfare of his family. He lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel and play sports. In high school he and his brother were know as "Worthey Crunch". On November, 6, 2009 at his home in Temecula, CA, LT departed this life. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lark Thomas, and Opaline Worthey, Sr; and maternal grandparents, Rev. Albert and Louise Wheat. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, and sister-in-law, Greg and Rachel Worthey; one sister, Rene Worthey; five nephews, Duante Barley, Ricky Frazier, Dominic, Syre, and Quincy Worthey; one niece, Ahdrianah Worthey; and other relatives and beloved friends. "Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir." ~Galations 4:6-7
