Mary Tisthammer

Mary Joe Tisthammer, 84, Murrieta died June 10, 2010 at her home under Hospice Care.She was born November 10, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Oscar and Frances Jackson. She attended Catholic Schools in Denver graduating St. Frances de Sales High School in 1944.On November 14, 1948, she married Arthur R. Tisthammer in Denver. She spent her life as a devoted wife and mother. Mary Joe lived in Denver area, Minnesota, Rapid City, South Dakota for 27 years, moving to Murrieta, California after becoming widowed in 1996. She was a member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Murrieta.Mary Joe is survived by a brother Robert L. Jackson, twin sister Betty Hope, and sister Pat Miell; her surviving children Lana Salyer, Gary Tisthammer and Connie Ferrell; five grandchildren Jason, Sara, and Zachary Salyer, Preston and Ariel Tisthammer; four great grandchildren Shelby, Ethan, Jenna and Ayden Salyer.Catholic memorial mass will be held at St. Marthas in Murrieta at 9am on Friday, June 25th with reception following at The Colony Clubhouse. At future date Mary Joe will have her ashes buried with her husband at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota.
