Nestor Dela Pena Angcao

Beloved Son, Brother, Chief Mechanic, Husband, Father, and Grandfather 1933 to 2025 (age 91)

Nestor Dela Pena Angcao was born February 7, 1933 in Amadeo, Cavite, Philippines to Numeriano Angcao and Dolores Dela Pena. He passed away peacefully from general organ failure on January 28, 2025 at his home in Temecula, California. Nestor was a life-long adherent of the Catholic faith. Nestor was the family patriarch and will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

Nestor was the eldest and last surviving of five siblings, namely: Jose Dela Pena Angcao, Nemensio Dela Pena Angcao, Lilia Angcao Bay, Corazon Dela Pena Angcao.

Nestor married Amelia Vidal on August 16, 1956 in St. Mary Magdalene Church in Amadeo, Philippines. Amelia and Nestor were happily married for 66 years before Amelia passed away on May 30, 2023.

Together Nestor and Amelia welcomed six children to their family: Edgard Vidal Angcao (spouse, Melinda Bianang), Frolian Vidal Angcao, Dante Vidal Angcao (Edna Barrientos), Marijean Angcao Gamat (Arturo Cuevas Gamat), Eleanor Angcao Francisco (Arielito Francisco), and Joselito Vidal Angcao (Florabel Montajes).

Nestor and Amelia were also the proud grandparents of: Joseph Bianang Angcao, Sheila Bianang Angcao, Marianne Bianang Angcao, Angelique Bianang Angcao, Marisol Barrientos Angcao, Jan Cyrill Angcao Gamat (James Taylor Meyers), Dylan Jacob Angcao Gamat, Eariel Angcao Francisco, Ellysse Montajes Angcao, and Janelle Montajes Angcao.

Nestor immigrated to the United States on May 18, 2005 to join other family members who had also come to America. He became a citizen of the United States, along with his wife on September 21, 2012, and together they resided in Temecula, California for nearly 20 years.

Nestor supported his family by working as a driver and chief mechanic for over 38 years. He worked for the Public Works & Highways Department in the Philippines and for Trece Martirez in Cavite, Philippines. Nestor studied accounting at University of the East in Manila.

Nestor’s hobbies included crossword puzzles in the daily newspaper, watching movies, and trying his luck at the casino. He was always the life of party whenever the family would gather, often socializing with a drink in hand. Nestor always had a twinkle in his eye, a great smile, and a wonderful sense of humor, which helped him live a long and happy life.

The family wishes to thank all of those who provided support during Nestor’s recent illness and who gathered today, either in person or in spirit.
