Robert William Hornisch, 89, of Temecula, CA passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2016. He was born in Chicago, IL on October 12, 1926 and resided in Skokie, IL for 34 years. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Erika of 60 years, his son Kenneth Hornisch (Mary) and daughter Sandra Fraser (James) and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Son of the late Stephen and Frances Hornisch (nee Binder) and brother of the late Norma Kujawa (nee Hornisch). Bob was a veteran of WWII and served in the Philippines. Returning to Chicago Bob worked for 34 years at Hygrade Meat Packing Co., now Hillshire Brands. After his retirement, Bob and Erika moved to California. Besides his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Bob was passionate about animals and their welfare. He would rescue animals and give them a loving home. Bob also loved people and everyone he came in contact with, loved him. He is at peace now and will forever be in our memories and in our hearts. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Friends of the Valley Animal Shelter, 33751 Mission Trail, Wildomar, CA 92595.
