Vincent Catalano
July 2, 1927 ~ March 23, 2011
A graveside service for Vincent Catalano was held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Rd. El Toro, CA at 11:00. Jim (as he was known to all) was born in 1927 in Rochester, NY. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Air Force and served in Korea from 1946 until 1948, just prior to the Koren War. After successfully finishing boot camp, he was given the choice to be an infantryman, paratrooper, or a cook. He cooked for a battalion of soldiers for almost three years. After the service, he worked for General Motors in NY before deciding to move to California in 1954. After a stint with Lockheed, he went to work for Bendix as a technical illustrator and eventually ran the North Hollywood plant's art department. He met Rosalie (Lee) in 1955, when introduced by a fellow-worker. They dated for 3 months before becoming engaged, and were married three months later on February 11, 1956. They were married for over 55 years, blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Linda. Jim and Lee loved square dancing, camping, and their grandchildren! In 2002 they move to the Four Seasons retirement community in which Jim was active in the bridge club, bowling club, and playing hand and foot with the club ladies.Jim was a mild mannered, sentimental man who will be deeply missed.
