zachary goodnight

Zachary Charles Goodnight passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the age of 21.

Zachary was born on July 18, 2001 in Laguna Hills, California. In 2004, the family moved to Temecula, California. Zachary was a brilliant and gifted artist, musician, student but most of all, cherished son. Zachary loved playing guitar, drums and composing music. He was an avid book reader and an extremely talented artist who loved drawing and painting. Zachary’s artistic talent was only surpassed by his quest for knowledge and an understanding of the biological impact on psychology.

Zachary was an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma graduate of Great Oak High School in 2019. He earned a scholarship to Arizona State University where he enrolled in the Fall of 2019 studying music, psychology and eventually became interested in pre-med studies.

Zachary was and shall ever be a beacon of kindness, understanding, sensitivity and love to all who knew him.

Zachary is survived by his younger brother Gage, mother Sandra and father Todd Goodnight. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bob and Joyce Carr of San Angelo, Texas, Susan Shiels of San Angelo, Texas and Gordon and Pam Goodnight of Springfield, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1pm at Reliance Church in Temecula on Santiago Road led by Pastor Rod Thompson.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To the Goodnight family, we send our love and support to you in these very challenging times. It is not supposed to be this way, but unfortunately life took another path. We have faith that in time you will be able to smile with the memories of a beautiful soul, that transitioned much too quickly, but is in peace. Wishing you peace, love, and strength to get through this painful time. Lean on your faith, and trust that together you will be able to come through time with the grace of God.

  2. Dear Brother,

You are here still in sunlight

The days will pass yet you still a light

Forever your way, your will your life

Will rage, rage like the days sunlight

Until the next my brother, Goodnight.

  3. I am very saddened by his leaving us, but I hope he is in a better place. He deserved the world. Though his time was short on this earth he managed to achieve a lot of love from people around him. He was very respectful and a wonderful person. We have lost a potential of a great artist but his memories with us is art in itself. Rest in peace Zachary.
