Ricardo Jose Mojarro

January 28, 1955 – July 26, 2022

Ricardo “Rick” Jose Mojarro of Temecula, California passed away on July 26, 2022. He was 67     .

He was born to Theresa and Manuel Mojarro in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 28, 1955. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Riverside in 1974 and later attended Riverside City College.

Rick worked at Walmart for many years. He was a hard, reliable worker at every job he held. Outside of work he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, catching the latest movie release every week, and fishing whenever he could convince his nephew and brother to take him.

He loved sports and especially followed baseball and football. He was a big Dodger fan, unless they were losing, then he quietly switched to being a Padres fan (we all kidded him about being a turncoat!). He never missed the opportunity to go to a game at Angels or Padres Stadium or occasionally the Lake Elsinore Storm with family or friends. When football season began, he would meet up with family at home or a local restaurant to take in the action.

Rick loved driving himself and others around town in his car to run errands. He loved shopping and looked forward to every major holiday, birthday, and BBQ gathering where he was certain to be attendance, eat (especially if chili was on the menu), laugh, and enjoy time with his family. He especially looked forward to Christmas where he would plan months in advance on exactly what to get for each person and then follow up the day after Christmas seeing a new movie with his nephew.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother Theresa Roy Mojarro of Quebec, Canada.  He is survived by his father Manuel Velasco Mojarro of Zacatecas, Mexico, brothers Robert (Karen) Mojarro and Mario (Susan) Mojarro, nephew Michael Mojarro and nieces Sarah (Mojarro) Lemons and Nicole (Mojarro) Bitting. He is also survived by numerous cousins from the Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire areas.

He lived his life to the fullest, never with a complaint and always caring for others. We will miss him greatly.

Rick’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at England Family Mortuary in Temecula on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to England Family Mortuary, Inc.

  5. We will miss Rick’s smile. He was always happy, we remember the Saturday breakfasts with his family, throwing wads of paper at each other and the friendly jab in the ribs. There was the sports talk ragging on the east coast teams and we are glad we got to go to Angels Stadium to see a game.
We will never forget you Rick, ❤️ hope you are at a big baseball game in the sky having a good time.
